Potentialise is a marketing and business development consultancy which helps clients to secure more profitable work.
The consultancy is focused primarily on the professional services sector which also includes contractors and subcontractors who provide a professional service as part of their project delivery.
We work with some of the largest global consultancies as well as those with an expertise at a more local level. Some of our clients are either multi site based and or multi professional. This brings the additional challenge of harnessing cross selling opportunities and the sharing of market intelligence and best practice.
Our Principal consultant
Basil Sawczuk originally qualified as an architect and spent many years working on major projects all over the world. He has been involved in building and developing business relationships within the public and private sector for over 25 years.
He was instrumental in creating a network of associations throughout Europe and this culminated in opening up an office in Berlin. Later he worked throughout the former Soviet Union and reached the final of The Consultant of the Year Award for 'Consistent British Consultancy Achievement.' It was also during this time he first began to speak at conferences, after dinner and at corporate functions.
Basil joined mega consultancy WS Atkins where he became a Director of the UK’s largest firm of civil and structural engineers and quantity surveyors and the third largest firm of architects.
Basil then went on to be the Marketing Director and on the management board of Lee Crowder, a medium sized law firm. Then moving on to be a Divisional Director within Accord plc (an outsourcing contractor mainly for the public sector) where he was Marketing and Business Development Director. A few years later Basil became the Director in Charge of a medium sized firm of Architects in Hertfordshire. In 2009 he started his own consultancy.
On the academic front Basil has an MBA, is the author of “Marketing & Selling Professional Services in Architecture & Construction” and “Risk Avoidance for the Building Team.” He has contributed to other books and also had published numerous articles and papers. He has been an external examiner to two British universities and a visiting Professor to Tyumen State University, Russia.
Throughout his career Basil has seen the value of building strong business relationships and the value of effective communications and presentation skills. He prepared his first goal plan at the age of 14 and has managed to achieve many of his goals. His goals are reviewed regularly and modified, if need be, to suit changing priorities and circumstances. There are still many more goals on the list and, hopefully, many more to add.
